<p><strong>Fantastic watch</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by B. Soni from NY, NY on 2008-11-21</em><br />
Bought this watch at 34% off 3600 value from an authorized dealer. Really great watch!!. This watch is not yet on Tag's website, since it was just released April 2008. Also, this is a new model for cjf2110.BA0594, the mentioned model will no longer be available.

The watch has transparent bottom, which is just beautiful. Compared to other Tag watched, this one has a dual coating (inside and outside of the silicon glass. So you cant even see reflection on the glass. It seems as if there is no glass. I did a lot of research, this one has day and day and the automatic model. If this one were to have perpetual calendar (auto date change according to month) it would cost over 7K so this is really a good deal. search for more pics on Google pictures and you see it in person. It is little heaver than an average watch.

I would say in this crunch time, if you can, buy from an authorized dealer so you have a peace of mind, if in case anything goes wrong.

<p><strong>Tons of Compliments!</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Vanessa W from Chicago, IL on 2009-05-30</em><br />
I admit, I am a watchhead. I bought this watch, not expecting much, intending it to be my daily "beater" watch for work but have been very surprised and have received almost daily compliments. As the specifications indicate, it is a bit large for a medium/slim lady's wrist (in a good way), is tall (not a low profile watch - so beware of tight shirt cuffs) and has tiny tiny diamonds (just enough to reflect...not look like blingy sparkle). While this is not comparable to my Tag, Jaeger or Omega but it is a solidly made watch for the money. Good value!

<p><strong>Chunky!</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by B. Tamarin from Boston, MA United States on 2009-11-14</em><br />
This is exactly what I was looking for - big and chunky. I had to have a TON of links removed as the chain was huge. Also, it took awhile to figure out how to get the watch on and off. In fact, the jeweler had to sit with me for 5 minutes so I could figure it out. The jeweler said he'd never seen a clasp so difficult before. Other than that, the watch is stunning. Huge, chunky and certainly NOT cheap looking as other reviewers have stated. It looks bold. It is not a dainty little timepiece but rather a bold fashion statement. Looks exactly as pictured.

<p><strong>A definite presence on the wrist</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Kathy from SC on 2009-12-22</em><br />
I have been looking at this watch online for months and finally decided to get it for myself for Christmas. Yes, it is larger than you might think, and it has some definite weight to it, but the quality of this piece is very impressive. Remember that this watch retailed for $695 ....... it is no flimsy watch by any stretch of the imagination. The face is large and it is thick. I followed the instructions to set the time, etc., and had no problems doing so. I also ordered the Invicta watch sizing tool when I ordered the watch. It came with no instructions (who dropped the ball on that one?), but if you read the reviews on the tool, the best reviewer gave an excellent written instructional tutorial. It may have taken him 5 minutes to remove his links, but it did take me longer. But once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing. I had to watch a YouTube video on how to operate the deployment clasp. It is a bit difficult to open despite knowing how.....it is tight, which may be a good thing in the grand scheme of things. I have a thing for watches and definitely expect this watch to draw a fair amount of attention and commentary. It has a definite presence on the wrist and is quite the impressive piece. If you do not like large faces, heavy weight, and thickness in a watch, then do not order this. The box that it comes in is very impressive except for the mustard yellow color. Who decided that was a good idea, Invicta???? So, other than the color, the packaging is superb. If you are considering this watch as a gift, and if you give the box a quality wrapping job, when the recipient opens it, it will be darned impressive. I absolutely love it.

<p><strong>A great stylish watch</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Ana from Portland, OR on 2009-07-15</em><br />
It looks much better than I had expected. I love the chunky, square style. If you have ever had a good diamond watch, you will know that this one does not fit the bill but as a great every day watch it definitely does. I am a real watch head having several other good watches from very good brands and still love this one for the style. To sum up: if you are looking for a real diamond watch, this one is not for you, but if all you want is a good stylish watch...Go for it!
</p>

<p><strong>WOW!</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by C. Rodriguez from San Diego on 2009-12-14</em><br />
I purchase this watch as a gift for my daughter in law. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little scared that the watch was going to be too big, but all I can say is WOW! This watch is gorgeous. I really like it. It's not really THAT big. It's a nice watch and it will make a great gift.

<p><strong>Fantastic Watch!</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Charles R. Carroll from on 2008-06-11</em><br />
I am what many would call a watch nut and own over 30 ranging from Timex to Rolex. For me to buy a watch there has to be "something there" for me to get excited about. At $240, this is one of the very best buys on a fantastic watch that you can find! I was so impressed with this watch I purchased a second one as a gift for my father in law who by the way, was very impressed with the watch himself.

Before getting into all the things I like about this watch I want to point out one of the other reviewers posted a problem with the buckle on his watch having some "points" on it that dug into his wrist and made the watch uncomfortable to wear. This must be a factory defect as this is not the case with either of the two that I purchased. While the watch strap is not usually covered by warranty I know from 1st hand experience that Citizen has a dedicated and friendly customer service department and I believe if he contacts them he will find a new strap coming to him rather quickly. Also as to the strap, I have been disappointed somewhat in the past when purchasing a watch and the strap that comes with it is not substantial in length. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and this has not caused me a problem but I would readily notice if someone had a larger wrist they would have to go out and purchase a new and larger strap to be able to wear their new watch. The strap that comes with this citizen will allow someone with a larger wrist than mine to be able to wear this watch with the strap that comes on it. This is very good as I believe the supplied strap is very handsome on this watch.

The BL5250-02L is a marvelous little piece of technology at a very good price! At a suggested retail of $400 I have routinely found the watch at local authorized dealers at around $300. My watch was purchased on line for $240 with free shipping and for an additional $5 you could have "next day" shipping.

This watch comes to you very user friendly right out of the box. Along with the user manual also comes a mini disk that when played will have you understanding all the features, time settings and adjustments. You will have your watch set and on your wrist in about 10 minutes. Also, if you lose this information you may go to Citizen's web page and pull up the same info on an interactive video.

The Echo Drive models have a power cell in them that is charged by available light so there is no battery change ever! The perpetual calendar allows you to set the watch once and then it recognizes short months along with leap years so there is no further adjustment for that. Also, there is a duel time zone feature. I use this for setting the second time zone to address the yearly time change of one hour. Doing this with the simple turn of the dial my watch snaps into Daylight savings time mode and then back with another turn when the time comes to go back. It just does not get easier than that.

The rotating bezel certainly may be used for more than just looks. One of the ways I use mine is when I plug a parking meter. I just rotate the bezel so my minute hand moving toward the marker allows me to quickly see when I need to be back at my car. The alarm function works but it is not very noticeable. I have two Seiko's that have a very audible and piercing sound. In this area I have to say Citizen could improve the watch. However, I do notice it if I am awake. I just don't know if it would wake me from a deep sleep.

The finish of the watch is very nice and the strap is very comfortable to wear. The watch while feeling very solid is not as heavy as you may would expect and it wears very nicely on the wrist. The watch is advertised as a "deep blue" face and that is an understatement. For all purposes except in direct sunlight it is black. This does not bother me at all because it looks great and again, in direct sunlight it does have a blue hew that looks good also. Besides great function and price another strong point on this watch is the luminosity of the hands and markers. With over 30 watches my Seiko's seem to have a lock on that area but this citizen comes in a very, very close second. After being outside all day I can read my watch all night long from my darkened bedroom.

Last but not least, this watch comes with a five year warranty and as I stated before, Citizen has great customer service.

I have just touched on the many features of this finely made watch and for you that do not like straps and would prefer a bracelet, Citizen offers the same watch on a bracelet as model number, BL5250-53L. It retails for $500, local price around $400, web price $300.

I rate this watch a solid 4 out of a possible 5 stars. I would have given it 4.5 if the alarm were more noticeable. I am very picky and I did not even rate my Rolex 5 stars. I highly recommend this watch and would but purchase it again. In fact, I did when I purchased one for my father in law. If this watch appeals to your eye buy it! Price, functions, ease of use, warranty, and customer service is just icing on the cake!
</p>

<p><strong>Great but not perfect.</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_3.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Axel from St. Lucia on 2009-04-08</em><br />
As others have said, this is a wonderful watch for many reasons. Made of Titanium and steel, it is a proper large size man's watch, but not heavy to wear. The leather band attached to it is heavy duty and will last, and the watch is beautifully designed and eye catching. The bezel (outer ring) is a little loose but easy to turn, and the dial is surprisingly clear and easy to read due to the strong design of the sword hands. The luminosity is brilliant too, as these things go, and will last a decent period. (You will be able to read the watch for the first few hours at night after you switch the lights off. No watch, from any company, luxury brands included, really lasts very long.) It has a perpetual calendar, so once set, you never have to think about it again, as long as it gets enough light.

The watch does have some quirks. You require patience to set it. As others have pointed out, changing the settings requires you often to wait until the hands travel back or forth from whatever time they're currently set at, to the new function you're changing to. Be careful of date setting. Depending on the setting, you have to wait for a few revolutions of the smaller hands before the date window moves, one date. If you're changing the date from the 2nd to the 29th, you'll be there a while. This watch requires commitment! The alarm is not only soft, but SHORT! About 15 seconds at best. The watch is a not really a chronograph. Those extra sub-dials you see don't really function in that way. Yes, there is a limited chronograph function but it is so poorly designed so as to render the watch useless for that function. The second time zone is handy but the alarm is not sychronized to it.

On the plus side, the watch is accurate, never needs to be fiddled with once it's set AND as long as it gets regular light, is very comfortable to wear and gorgeous on the wrist. I changed out my stitching for a Hirsh carbon black strap with white stitching, and it looks fantastic. The lesson is, buy this watch if you'll wear it regularly and don't really care too much about the fiddly details. If you're likely to forget it in closets or cupboards for long periods, beware!

<p><strong>Good watch</strong><br />

I quickly understood how to use it; it's fairly simple. It's big on my wrist but not heavy. The band is top quality. It didn't get four starts because the buckle is designed with metal points that dig into my wrist when I bend my hand inward. They rounded all other areas of the buckle except the one closest to the skin. It leaves painful, deep impressions in my wrist. I've considered having a jeweler grind down the points or buying a new band. Wearing the watch more loosely is not an option. Too bad a good watch gets hurt by the band.

The glowing face could stay bright awhile longer... the luminance fades too quickly. The "blue" face is really black. You have to really search for a hint of blue-ness. The date window could be a little larger... you have to angle the watch to see the date because it is so deep in the window. Otherwise, good watch, nice features. The manual is written well, although I'm still uncertain what you use the rotating bezel for.

<p><strong>My favorite watch</strong><br />

I have many watches that I really like, but I hate to wear them to work for fear that the crystal or case will get scratched. I decided I needed a watch with no sentimental value to worry about. In looking for a watch the criteria I was looking for included solar power movement, perpetual calendar, and a bezel. I also wanted something that would be comfortable to wear. The fact that the case is titanium (and therefore quite light for its size) s just a bonus.

This has been just a terriffic watch, and I'm extremely satisfied. It has exceeded my expectations in all particulars!

<p><strong>Nice watch with room for improvement</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_3.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by oli67 from on 2009-03-09</em><br />
First the summary: I really like this watch for what it is but I am also glad that I read ALL the reviews before I ordered it so I was prepared for most of its quirks. Since I have owned it only for a short period of time I cannot comment on its long-term reliability. It keeps the time to within less than 1s error per week. I like the very low weight for a watch of this style &amp; size and in contrast to one of the other reviewers I don't think that this contributes to a cheap look-and-feel, rather the contrary. The white hands on an almost black background make it easy to spot the time on a first glance. All indicators including the small additional function hands and the date window were precisely aligned upon delivery and stay so in normal use. The date does not start shifting around 11pm as it happens with other watches but it simply switches at 12am, ensuring that one can always easily recognize the correct date at any time. Setup from scratch can be a bit cumbersome during the first time. So, yes, you sure need the manual but it isn't rocket science either. As for the looks of it, it is more shiny than the official Citizen images suggest, you get a more realistic idea by looking at the photographs provided by other amazon customers. But again, I don't agree that this necessaryily gives it a cheap appearance. It is simply a matter of personal preference and I like to look at it. The things that kept my rating down at 3 stars are the following: 1) Switching between alarm setting and time display modes is indeed a pain in the neck. While it still has something charming to it when the hands are making their rounds when switching between the alarm and time modes, I don't understand why the hands are not always taking the shortest route between the two settings. For example, instead of going 9 hours backward (CCW) they spool down 15 hours forward (CW). I haven't figured out yet why this is the case since the hands can run in both directions, CW and CCW. And one thing that is really disturbing is the fact that even if one does not want to change the alarm setting but only switch the alarm on or off, one still has to wait (sometimes for minutes) until the watch has completed its entire multi-roundtrip to display the alarm time setting. Only then can the alarm be switched on or off after which the watch has to make it all the way back to the time display. Now to my taste this is pushing it a bit far. 2) The alarm is as quiet as many others have described it. You don't want to use it as a spare travel alarm clock or as a meeting reminder in any other but the most quiet office environment. It is the quietest alarm that I have ever found in any watch. 3) If a watch has an alarm and a second time zone mode, I think the alarm should also refer to this second time zone if desired. Unfortunately this is not the case for this watch. Second time zone, yes, but the alarm setting always refers to the original zone. Kind of limits the practicality of the second time zone mode. But then if you can't use it as an alarm clock anyway...So in the end I don't regret it at all that I bought it. In fact I like it a lot for its overall design and apparently fine engineering. And last not least the idea to use light and a non-toxic battery to power it. But if any of the abovementioned downsides are of any concern, one should think twice before getting this watch. These quirks are real with no workaround in sight.

<h3>Description</h3>

<p>Whether you're a secret agent or high-tech trendsetter, no mission is impossible with the stylish, rugged Casio G-Shock MTG910DA digital sports watch, which offers a wealth of performance timing features and cutting edge technology. The jet black stainless steel watch receives a time calibration signal transmitted from Fort Collins, Colorado, and signal reception is possible within a radius of about 2,000 miles from the Fort Collins transmitter. You can choose to automatically receive this signal (once per day at 1 AM) or manually update the G-Shock to the atomic clock. It's also solar-powered--charging in either sunlight or indoor light--so you'll never have to deal with changing the battery. It has a 1/100-second stopwatch with a 24-hour measuring capacity and elapsed time, split time, and 1st/2nd place time modes. It also offers such timekeeping functions as 12/24-hour formats, year/month/date/day display (with an autocalendar to the year 2039), daylight savings time on/off, and world time for 29 time zones and 30 cities. Make it to your next appointment on time with 4 independent daily alarms (with a snooze function) and an optional hourly time signal. This watch offers water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet), suitable for scuba diving. This watch features a durable stainless steel case and strap, scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and AfterGlow LED electro luminescent backlight.</p>

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p><strong>Big, Black,&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; Very Tough</strong><br />

<em>by BIGTONE from Washington DC on 2006-06-06</em><br />
I really like mine and would highly recommend it. Many of my buddies had G-Shock watches when I was deployed to Iraq and I decided to get one when I got home. I wanted a watch that could stand up to whatever I put it through. This piece it big, black, heavy, tough, and looks good on my wrist. On top of that, it has atomic accuracy (I don't think this feature works overseas), and is solar powered. The band is metal. The face and back of the watch is also metal. There are a few plastic parts on the case, but you can't tell by looking. It's all black. The light button and ring around the face are shiny compared to the rest of the watch. This is a subtle accent. The watch and band have a slight gloss. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it doesn't have a countdown timer and the alarm needs to be a lot louder.

<p><strong>Synchs in Ecuador</strong><br />

Currently I a living in the middle of the city of Ambato, Ecuador. I doubted if the atomic time feature would work so way down south. However, I put the watch on my night table overnight, close to a window. It synchronizes with WWVB (Fort Collins) with no problems. WWVB is over 5300 km (3300 miles)from here! I don't know what kind of antenna they put in these gadgets, but I am impressed.

<p><strong>Top notch</strong><br />

<em>by Tony Michaelson from on 2006-08-21</em><br />
I had my first Casio back in 1981, when they were manufacture in Japan, ever since I have been fascinated with the digital watches especially being from a generation that saw the development of the digital watches from the old LED watch to the newer LCD.

I've been meaning to buy a new Casio for a while but I was looking for one Atomic, Solar, world time, mineral crystal and with metal band, not so easy to find, until I saw the MTG910DA-1V it has everything I was looking for and much. The watch is big but not uncomfortably heavy once you have it on you forget that you are wearing it (and I have a small wrist). One of the thing that concern me about the watch was Atomic synchronization being that I live in Miami, Florida which is far from the antenna in Colorado but so far it has failed the synchronization only once in a month. Something you should know about this watch is that, because it has a very small antenna, synchronization for those who lived on far places, within the rage of the signal, is only possible at night. The watch has to be position in front of a window with the 12 o clock facing the window and if synchronization is not achieved tried different windows around the house, even if the watch is in a window that has worked in the past it may still failed if you have bad weather conditions. Not to worry if the watch fails the synchronizing, it is much more accurate than a pricy Rolex anyway.

I would definitely recommend this watch it is a must have for a watch collector as well as a regular every day user.

<p><strong>Love this watch</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Patrick Carroll from Atlanta, GA USA on 2006-12-24</em><br />
Want a one-word description? "Indestructible" comes to mind.

I bought this after reading all the reviews. Here are my thoughts:

A number of reviews comment on difficulties with sizing the strap. I didn't find it all that difficult. Mind you, I do happen to have a well-lit workbench, and a number of extra-small jeweller's screwdrivers. So, I can understand the complaints, but I had no problems.

There's been a bit of commentary on the size of the watch. Maybe I have gorilla arms, but it didn't seem all that big to me. Definitely thicker than the Timex "Ironman" it replaces, but not excessively so.

So, all in all, an indestructible watch, not oversized, and easy to fit to my wrist.

The real downside to the watch is the instruction manual: it's too small to read, so it makes learning the watch unnecessarily difficult.

I own a small number of items that are just beautiful and well-executed: my Benchmade axis-lock knife, my Ford Explorer, my MAG-LITE torch, etc. This watch just joined the list.

UPDATE (12/18/2007): I was in Beijing last week. While standing in the middle of Tiananmen Square the watch lit up, synchronizing on some time signal or other. How cool is that?!?!!!

UPDATE (08/08/2008): I've noticed that the paint is wearing off the clasp. The watch works just perfectly.

UPDATE (11/04/2009): Spring forward/Fall Back happened automatically, while I was sleeping. The paint has worn a bit more off the clasp. The watch continues to work just perfectly. Love this hunka hunka burnin' watch.

UPDATE (12/30/2009): I've decided to get a new watch. Amazon had Invicta dive watches for under $90. Realizing I was using a *tiny* amount of the Canon watch's capability, and squinting into the bargain, I bought an Invicta dive watch that's about two inches across, and has huge luminous numbers. It works for me. Not to take anything from the Casio, it's constantly recharged, and I use it to set times on my other watches. Still, ultimately it had more than I was looking for, or could use, and its manual was a hassle, so it now serves as "chief astronomer," or some such.
</p>
<hr />
<p><strong>Outstanding value</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by nuovorecord from Portland, OR USA on 2007-02-25</em><br />
UPDATED November 26, 2007

After wearing it for a few months, I'm still pleased with my purchase. As a couple of other reviews pointed out, the band will become scuffed over time. I work on a computer all day, and the part of the band that comes in contact with my desk has had the black coating worn off. Not too badly, though. If you're the type that likes that "worn in" look, you won't be bothered by it. If you like your watch to look perfect, then beware that the black coating will wear off if you have the band in constant contact with another surface, like a desk.

The atomic timesetting feature continues to work well. I've traveled to New York City and had the watch sync up perfectly in my hotel room in Midtown.

This watch is probably the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. The bracelet fits perfectly (doesn't pinch or pull hair), it's rugged, and the heft and balance of the watch feels good.

The only feature that I wish it had is a countdown timer. But, I get around that by setting one of the alarms to the time I need to measure to.

I'm really pleased with the quality of this watch. It's a big watch, but comfortable to wear, even on my relatively small wrist. The bracelet and case are top quality. I've had no problems getting it to sync up with the radio signal from the atomic clock. And I don't necessarily have to set it in the window for it to receive the signal.
</p>

<h3>Description</h3>

<p>A clean black dial distinguishes this durable, dark-hued Invicta Men's Pro Diver Collection Coin-Edge Swiss Automatic Watch. A polished stainless steel band joins to a durable stainless steel case that's topped by a black, ion-coated, unidirectional coin-edge bezel that is imprinted with white indexes and Arabic numeral minute indicators in increments of 10. The striking black dial is protected by a scratch-resistant, sapphire-coated window, showcasing luminescent geometric hour indicators that complement luminescent, silver-tone hands. Small white minute markers and a date window at the three o'clock position complete the look of the visually appealing dial. This Swiss-automatic diving watch is water resistant to an impressive 660 feet (200 M) and is presented in a yellow Invicta gift box along with a buffing cloth.Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.Automatic WatchesAutomatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more. Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).</p>

<p><strong>Great product, but the lower-end ones may be the one for you.</strong><br />

<em>by Dave Duy Le from on 2009-05-08</em><br />
This watch is very good for 300 dollars. It resembles the Rolex Submariner very closely. It is very sturdy and heavy and I love it a lot.

The band of this watch feels sturdy and heavy. It is huge! The links are big. The center links are polished which gives it a more fancier look. It is a scratch magnet if you're not careful, but you can always polish it down again. Or you can brush it down to give it a more Submariner look.

When I first saw the back of this watch, it was incredible. I've never seen a Swiss automatic movement in person before, although it's through the crystal, it's beautiful! It's fun talking to my dad about the back of this watch and it's movement. I told him "You can see right there it says 26 jewels Swiss Made on the mechanism." Although on the crystal, it says Swiss Movement. That's because the movement itself is Swiss Made, but the watch itself isn't. But to me that's all the same! Swiss Made or Swiss Movement, it has a Swiss Made movement and that's all it matters for it to be Swiss to me!

This watch certainly looks a lot more pricier than it is. It also keeps time very nicely, I don't know how many seconds it gains or loses because I don't care much for that stuff. All I know is that it keeps time correctly and that's all it matters. The most beautiful part of this watch in my opinion is the second hand. You can clearly see that it flows very smoothly. That's called a sweeping motion and that's what the Rolex Submariner has! My dad owns a Submariner and I compared them both together and the movements are equilibrium!

To an untrained eye and to someone who does not know much of watches at all, they will surely confuse this watch with a Submariner. They look so much alike! The bezel, hands, dial, crown, diameter, etc. Everything is so the same style. This watch also uses a sapphire crystal like high end watches do.

The only issue I have with this watch is that Invicta has numerous watches that have the exact same style as the 9937OB but for lesser price using cheaper materials. It's not the problem though, the problem is that people confuse my 9937 with the lower end models because they don't know about this model because they only sell the lower end ones at Costco for 50 dollars and 100 dollars.

My dad came home from Costco the other night and said "You know what? You got ripped off for 300 dollars, I saw this watch on Costco for only 100 dollars." I was like WHAT DID YOU SAY? NOOO! I had to give him a deep brief explanation of how this is different because it's Swiss Automatic, it beats at 28,800 BPH, with a sweeping motion second hand, etc. etc.

If you don't care about what people think of you, this watch is well worth the price. But it's not worth it if you only care for the watches looks, you might as well go with the lower-end 5017 or 8926. Why spend the extra few hundred bucks for something that looks the same?

Here are the differences between the low-end 8926 and the high-end 9937.

The 9937 uses a high-end sapphire crystal while the 8926 uses the mid-end mineral crystal. The 9937 has a larger cyclops (Magnification Bubble) than the 8926, which allows it to resemble more closely to the Rolex Submariner.

One of the largest differences are the movements. The 8926 uses a Japanese Miyota movement which is used in Citizen automatics. The Miyota is not bad at all! It's really good, it just doesn't compare with the Swiss Sellita SW200 movement used in the 9937. The differences in the movements are the 9937 has a 28,800 BPH compared to the 8926 that beats at 21,600. Now what does this mean? Sweeping second hand motion! That's right, the 28,800 will move at 8 increments per second compared to 6 per second on the 21,600. That means the 9937 will tick smoother and because it beats at the same rate as a Submariner at 28,800. The second hand ticking will be nearly the same! While the 21,600 will be a bit rougher.

The 8926 will also have a cheaper bracelet, the 9937 uses a very strong sturdy bracelet that weighs a MEGATON! The end links on the 9937 also doesn't fold like the 8926 does. Because of this, another closer resemblance with the 9937 to the Rolex Submariner.

The 9937 uses a slightly smaller minute hand than the 8926. The 8926 uses a minute hand that is the size of a Rolex 50th anniversary Submariner while the 9937 uses a regular sized one.

Now another difference again is that the 9937 will say Swiss Movement on the bottom of the dial, while on the 8926 it will say Japan Movement.

Although there may be some more differences between them, this is all I can think up at the moment!

So for the conclusion? I am very happy with this watch, it is just monstrous for the pricing. Do I recommend it? It depends. If you don't care much about watches at all and don't care about the differences I provided for the price differential and would rather save money. Then I would say go with the 8926, but if you do care and you love watches then hey! Save the money and get the 9937! It's well worth it.

<p><strong>Invicta 9937OB Review</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Roger Burton from Fresno, CA, USA on 2009-05-03</em><br />
I have owned the Invicta 9937OB for about 9 months now and I am generally pleased with the good quality of this Rolex Submariner tribute watch. The following comments are based on my research, experience and opinions about this watch.

The OB in the model number stands for "old bezel." This is the coin-edge bezel that Invicta produced prior to their adoption of the scalloped bezel used in many of their present diver's watch models. Personally I prefer the coin-edge bezel, as it is easier to grip and turn than the scalloped bezel Invictas.

This watch has a Sellita SW200, Swiss made, automatic movement--a copy of the proven and reliable ETA 2824-2 Swiss automatic movement. The Sellita SW200 is a 26-jewel movement where as the ETA 2824-2 movement has 25 jewels. I've read that Sellita put in the extra jewel to be different (marketing reasons) and claims the extra jewel increases the power reserve of the movement. The Sellita appears to be a good copy of the ETA according to my research.

Concerning accuracy, my watch was running about 35 seconds a day fast out of the box when I received it, which was too inaccurate for me. I had a watch maker service and regulate the watch and it now runs at +/- 3 seconds a day--very good accuracy for a mechanical watch!

I had been keeping this watch on a winder every night, because the power reserve seemed to be only about seven hours off the winder (the Sellita power reserve specification is 38 hours). What was going on here? After having the movement serviced by a watch maker I was told that this was not the fault of the watch movement--I needed to hand wind the crown 25 times to achieve the full power reserve. Well, I tried this and sure enough the power reserve is quite good if hand wound. Lesson learned, don't rely on a watch winder to fully wind a mechanical watch.

A highly desirable feature is the scratch resistant sapphire crystals covering both the watch face and exhibition back. No scratches on either crystal after 9 months for my watch. Also, it is interesting to view the automatic movement with Invicta branded rotor through the case back view window when examining this watch. A testament to the quality and style of this watch was when a family member thought it was a real Rolex Submariner (his parents own Rolex watches).

With its beefy stainless-steel watchband and case the Invicta 9937 weighs in on the heavy side--although this is something you quickly get used to and it feels comfortable on the wrist. But the round luminous markers and watch hands could definitely have better lume for a diver's watch. For typical casual wear, this criticism tend to be minor and not a deal breaker. I like the good quality, style and value you get for your money.

<p><strong>Class Act</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Alan Smithee from SRQ on 2008-12-26</em><br />
I am a novice watch collector, however I have one major rule - the watch must be below $500. This is not only because I am not Mr. Deep Pockets, but also I have issues with spending money. You could say I am a VALUE novice watch collector.

I have been wanting a Sub-mariner watch for some time, sure the Rolex is the CROWN (king of the hill) - but to meet my rule ($500) - it would seem that Rolex is not going to make the cut. There are many Sub-mariner look-alikes.

Now comes the value - it's not just about looks, it's about substance. Sure - the Invicta 8926 or other similar watches have the looks, but what about the substance.

Think about this - Rolex is more than just looks, the name equates to quality and substance. From the movement, crystal, to workmanship.
My goal was to find a Sub-mariner - that HAD the Rolex QUALITY! Finding the looks was easy, finding the quality - well that was the hard thing to do.

After doing tons of research - Invicta 9937 not only had the looks - but the quality for the price is very surprising.

Let's break it down.

1.	Movement (9937 - Swiss Movement) - many people don't even think about movements, they are just interested in the looks - there is nothing wrong with that, but there is a difference. Many Sub-mariner look-a-likes run on Quartz (battery operated) - there are some excellent quartz movements out there, but this review is about findings a watch that meets the standards of the Sub-mariner (of which Rolex has set the stage).
First, the watch is an automatic (traditionally watches come in 3 varieties - hand wind, automatic, and quartz) - the Sub-mariner is a traditional automatic (or self-winding watch). The movement in the 9937 is a 26 jewel ETA 2824, a popular Swiss movement in many high-end Swiss made watches. For the 9937 to have such a movement at the cost is a darn good deal. The second hand moves in a quick-ticking fashion. If you have ever seen a Japanese automatic movement, while very nice - they seem to make a more jerky beat - this is because they have fewer beats per second, not that it is bad - but it is noticeable. The Invicta 8926 uses the Japanese movement - if you look at them side-by-side you notice the difference, which is seen by the movement of the second hand.

2.	Crystal - the 9937 uses a Sapphire crystal, rather than hardened mineral crystal. This is another big treat which you would only find on the high-end Sub-mariner watches by Tag, Rolex, or Omega. The use of a sapphire crystal is almost scratch resistance compared to hardened mineral. Additionally the raised Cyclops magnifier is no small affair - it stands prominent at the 3 o'clock marker over the date.

3.	FACE /BEZEL - if you are looking for the Rolex Sub-mariner - this is as close as it gets. The hour markers are raised has silver surrounds around the luminescent markers - this separates the 9937 from many other imitators that just paint in the luminescent and shows an extra thought in the production. Of course the Invicta wing logo appears and the second hand has the Invicta logo at one end. Invicta - while making their own version of the sub-mariner has no problem showing off their product with pride. So that does reflect a difference - but a positive one in my book. Additionally - Swiss Movement is written along the bottom to indicate that it's ticking with real Swiss precision - not just any movement. The bezel insert only has the minute hash marks for the first 10 minutes - something also more distinctive with the sub-mariner line. The numbers are done in the traditional block fashion. The serrations on the bezel are not as sharp as the Rolex version - but are found in this model. Note - many imitators use a scalloped edge instead of serration. Again - the 9937 pays homage to the sub-mariner.

4.	CASE - the case on this watch is thick and heavy - it's solid, with a combination of brushed and polish. But what really stands out - more so than even the Rolex, is the clear back on the watch - you can see the movement and engraved INVICTA in the weight that moves (to automatically wind the watch). The back is a class act affair. It is stamped "Pro-Diver 200 Meters", "Sapphire Crystal", "Stainless Steel 316L", " Swiss Movement", "Invicta", "Model 9937" - inside the clear case it is stamped 26 jewel Swiss made. There is no doubt the pride they took in making a solid watch front to back.

5.	Bracelet - Here is where the Invicta actually surpasses the Rolex it pay homage too. The bracelet seems more solid and heavier than the Rolex. Granted I don't own a Rolex, but have tried them on and compared them - so this is just an observation. You FEEL this bracelet and it's solid. The clasp is SOLID stainless steel - not a pressed-stamped out clasp. It's very nice.

So what do you get?
For just over $300 you get a very solid watch, sapphire crystal, Swiss movement, solid stainless steel construction and bracelet. The Invicta 8926 is nice (for $100) it has the looks - but not the quality. You know you are wearing this watch.

Rolex ($5000 plus) - Their own movement, Sapphire Crystal, Stainless Steel.

Invicta 9937 ($300) - Swiss ETA movement, Sapphire Crystal, Stainless Steel, Clear Back, Solid Bracelet.

Invicta 8926 ($100) - Japanese movement, Mineral Crystal, Stainless - stamped bracelet.

I took it to our local jeweler - who caries Tag, Rolex, Omega, etc. for resizing of the bracelet. He gave it back to me and asked what I paid for it. I said it was a gift - but it was a little over $300. He said that it was easily a $1500 watch and would give his Tag, Rolex, or Omega a solid run for the money. He winked and said - don't tell anyone about it - because it will hurt my business. If that doesn't tell you this is a steal for the price - I don't know what does.

I've had my Invicta 9937 since June '05 when Invictas first came on the scene and this watch was a newcomer. It was billed as the limited-time-only Rolex copy - replicating all of the quality elements as the Submariner (as opposed to the cheaper Invicta 8926). I've been all over the world in it (I travel a lot - and had it most of the time in the tropics), wear it most days, and have barely affected it. It still looks great and keeps great time. My plan was to get the Rolex when I could afford it, but this thing is so good that I can't justify replacing it with one that is just like it, except for the little Rolex emblem. I love the band, too - no pinching or pulling hairs, and feels high quality. I like the weight of it - rather heavy.

I've owned one watch for 24 years, a Rolex GMT Master, and it is my most prized possession. I never even really wanted another watch, except another Rolex, the Submariner. Well, in today's economy, plunking down $4,000 to $5,000 for a watch just seems a little irresponsible. I ran across the 'little brother' of this watch, the Invicta 8926 Pro Diver with Japanese automatic movement, one day on a shopping channel for $89 and thought why not? It sure looks like a Sub. When I got it, I was really blown away by the quality. Then I started researching and discovered there is a Swiss movement version of the Invicta Pro Diver, the 9937. Since I always considered myself a bit of a watch snob, I wanted the best, so even though the 8926 was absolutely great, I ordered the 9937. As previous reviewers have mentioned, it is worth the extra money. The crystal, the cyclops, the nicer band and heavy duty clasp and of course the Swiss movement all added up to a really beautiful piece of fine jewelry. I actually prefer the way it feels on my wrist to my older Rolex, it's just a bit heavier, feels very solid, and the case is a bit thicker. The band actually surpasses the Rolex band, quite surprising. The movement is quite nice and the accuracy is on par with the Rolex. No automatic watch will ever be as accurate as a quartz, but + or - a few seconds a day really isn't that big a deal to me. I'm not crazy about the engraved 'Invicta' on the side of the case (of all Invictas), but frankly, it's hardly noticeable. I found this watch on sale for about $265. It's easily worth much, much more IMHO. Buy it, you'll like it. An if you're on a budget, grab the 8926, you can find that for under $100 if you look around

<em>by D. Hewett from on 2007-08-29</em><br />

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p><strong>Great looking and heavy chronograph watch. Diamonds are almost invisible, but still a great value.</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Anjana Nigam from Minneapolis, MN on 2007-11-14</em><br />
I was very happy when I opened the package and saw this watch. The words that come to mind when describing this timepiece are handsome, solid, beautiful. It is a chronograph and therefore it has the size and heft of a chronograph. The ladies model is fairly big when compared to the more delicate jewelery watches available for ladies.

To give you an idea of the size, the dial is about 1.5 inches across (the middle glass section is a tiny bit bigger than a quarter + the bezel). The strap is also wide at little more than half an inch (5/8"). The model number is #4718 which is the stainless steel watch with a mix of stainless brushed and polished finish just like the picture. (The #4719 mentioned by another reviewer is the two tone stainless and gold model.) The case of this watch is thick too, just over 1 cm (7/16") so don't go for this watch if you are looking for a slimmer and lighter watch. In fact, the picture made this watch look more delicate than it is in person.

If I was picking this watch for a man with a slimmer wrist, this would look better than the male version. In fact, this Movado Men's Juro Watch #0605023 has almost the same case diameter as this watch.

This watch feels heavy and solid on the wrist. The band is around 7.5 inches so you'll have to take out a link or two if you have the average wrist size of about 6.5-7 inches. The 16 diamonds on the bezel (2 in each section) look much bigger in the picture than they are in person. They are just as big as a pinprick, almost too tiny to be seen by the naked eye!

However, diamonds or no diamonds, the watch looks expensive and like a quality product. It has a beautiful stainless steel finish and a mother of pearl dial. The hands and number markings glow in the dark. The push button on the 2 sides of the winder help control the chronograph functions. The movement is "Swiss movement" and it is water resistant upto 100m. It comes in the signature bright yellow Invicta fake-leather box (box made in China) with an outer yellow cardboard box with an embossed Invicta logo. Inside the box is a warranty form, an international warranty card, and the manual etc.

Invicta is an older Swiss watch company (est. 1837) with a reputation for making great timepieces, and the quality is apparent in this watch. A watch review site mentioned that if Rolex is the Bugatti of watches, then Invicta is the Camry. I'll take the Camry, given the price and value factor!

Invicta is also offering 1+4 years free platinum warranty as per the current promotion if you buy it from Amazon. (a $35 value)

If you still want to learn more there is an almost identical Bulova Women's Diamond Chronograph Watch #96R19 available that has 70+ reviews, most of them rave about their purchase. It is also the same price as the Invicta. As mentioned above, Invicta is a Swiss based watch company (although they now have an office in Florida) and Bulova is an American watch company started in New York by an immigrant in 1870s.

I love this watch, and can't stop admiring it. It definitely looks more expensive than the price I paid.

<p><strong>A decent timepiece for the price I paid of $179</strong><br />

<em>by D. Frank from Wisconsin on 2007-11-14</em><br />
I received this watch today. I purchased it as a "gold box" buy for $179. Seemed like an excellent buy. But, there are a few "untruths" given as the item description.
* The model number of the watch is actually #4719, not #4718
* The (16 handset, sparkling diamonds) are the most ridiculously small chips I have ever seen, actually they are literally too small to be seen. The picture shown and description makes you believe that even though small, they would be visible. Not so.
* When you hold the watch to your ear to hear the "tick tick" of the second hand, it skips and is clearly irregular. I haven't had it long enough to tell if it keeps proper time yet.
* The back of the watch case (with the model#) is twisted around. I don't know if that is important, but it seems like for a nicer brand watch it should be put together better.

On the positive side, it is a heavy, significant watch. It is shiny, nice looking and wearable as an everyday watch. It is a bit rugged for evening, but it depends on what you do in your evenings I suppose.

Overall, it is pretty nice... I just expected more and a bit better quality.

<p><strong>For $ 149 this is a 5 star watch but...</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_4.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by Mihaela from Michigan on 2008-01-26</em><br />
I paid $ 149 for this watch and I received a free gift (Invicta Gear Yellow Backpack). I LIKE THIS WATCH. A lot! What I don't like is the instructions manual. That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The person that put together the manual did a poor job. You actually need to "play" with the watch in order to see how the watch works. Also, the diamonds are small, but enough for this type of watch. And it can be considered an everyday watch. Plus 4 years extra warranty for $ 25 is perfect. A little bit heavy but it doesn't bother me.
</p>
<hr />
<p><strong>A great deal for Quality</strong><br />

<em>by KLD from Charlotte, NC on 2008-03-27</em><br />
I just got this watch yesterday and it looks great. I took it to the jeweler to have links taken out and while I was there I asked him if he thought it was a good value for what I paid. He showed me a comprable Citizen Chronograph with diamonds, etc. that sold for over $500.00 and I think the Invicta has a much more distictive look. It is a heavy watch and I wouldn't advise ladies with small wrists to buy it. Also, if you have never owned a chronograph, they do have to be set up and they work a little differently than a normal watch and the instrcutions are not much help so be prepared for that! And those that complain about the diamond size, what do you expect for that price?! You aren't going to get huge stones for under $200 on a watch, lets be realistic here. If you want a distinctive, quality watch that is priced well then I would highly recommend purchasing this watch.
</p>
<hr />
<p><strong>I Love It!</strong><br />

<em>by J. Dimaria from Northeast on 2007-11-20</em><br />
I ordered this as a gold box special. For 179.00, I am very pleased with my purchase. The mother of pearl face is far nicer in person, and the picture on the website does not do this watch justice. Yes, as the other reviewers noted, the diamonds are very, very small. However, it is just enough bling to accentuate this piece. The chronograph functions work great, and my jeweler sized the watch for me free of charge and noted this was a great price for this watch. Also, the extended warranty offered to amazon customers, a 35.00 value, gives you a total of a 5 year warranty. Overall, I am very pleased.

<p><strong>Satisfied</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by K. Helton from TN on 2007-05-21</em><br />
Been very satisfied with this watch so far. I was really concerned about the size, but this slim pathfinder fits the bill. Most of the current pathfinder watches are behemoths that are oversized for my wrist. This one is large but not oversized, I wouldn't want to go any bigger myself. (56.9 x 47.4 x 11.5mm / 60g) Most of the other pathfinder are in the (62.3 x 52.2 x 14.2mm / 78g) range. So I get the same features but a little smaller footprint.

Features:
The compass has been spot on with a handheld compass I checked it against.
The altimeter calibrates by pressure and temp. So, it needs to be adjusted for current conditions before you start a trip. It's varied widely so far. Also changed the display to read in feet and not in meters. It goes in 20 foot intervals.

The barometer stays a little below what weather sources say actual pressure is but I'm looking for trends in pressure not the actual pressure(at least I am). Rising as a trend improving weather, falling pressure as a trend deteriorating weather. Can also change the display for pressure from hPa to inHg.

Had to manually set the thermometer and it's been in the ballpark with the real temp. Which once again was what I was after, not precise readings, so I am happy with it.

There a few mountains in the area I'm in so I was a little concerned about the atomic time keeping. When I took it out of the box it hadn't updated in about two months. I wasn't able to manually update until later in the night, around 11 pm est. Every night since it's sync'd it's time automatically sometimes while even on my wrist. It tires at 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00.

Really like the large display for the time. Very easy to see at a glance.
world time feature: who cares?
Stopwatch is a stopwatch and works.
Countdown time is easy to config and start.
Haven't set any alarms yet. The watch can also set to silent. Can chime on each hour too.
Not using the auto backlight.
I'd give the watch about 4 and a quarter stars but since I can't do a quarter I'll go ahead and give it 5.

<p><strong>Feature Filled Timepiece</strong><br />
<img src="http://watches-ebiz.com/media/images/star_5.0.png" alt="" border="0" align="left" height="12" width="68" /><br />
<em>by J. Battig from United States on 2008-01-24</em><br />
I've been impressed with everything about this watch since receiving it. First off, the looks are great. It's a large watch, but the styling is nicely done and it looks decent on my average size wrist. I like that it is not bold or busy. It is fairly intuitive to adjust and access the many functions. The three major functions of the watch are easily accessed from the corresponding buttons on the right side.

I particularly like that this is a solar powered watch, with a handy indicator at the bottom of the display showing the level of charge. It took a week or so of normal wear to fully charge the battery, but it has maintained it's full charge with only a minimal amount of direct sunlight daily. The owner's manual states that with normal use it needs only 5 minutes of sunlight daily to maintain the charge, and it has so far proven true.

The compass function appears to be quite accurate, but I haven't used it very much so far. The compass will shut off after about 20 seconds, I assume to save battery power.

For an accurate temperature reading the watch must be removed from the wrist. Your body heat will affect the reading significantly, but that is to be expected with this type of thermometer. Once removed from the wrist, it will take at least 15 minutes for the temperature to stabilize. I suppose that unless you have the watch sitting on your nightstand or you are in the middle of nowhere, there are probably quicker ways to find the actual temperature.

The barometer seems fairly accurate when compared to the local pressure reading from the nearby government weather station. The trend graph is a nice touch. I haven't used the altimeter much but it's important to note that it must be adjusted periodically to match your actual elevation, as with any altimeter the reading is computed against the ever-changing barometric pressure.

The atomic time keeping has worked very well for my location in the central US. I live approximately 550 miles from the Ft. Collins transmitter, and the watch will receive the time signal each night when it is removed from my wrist and sitting on my nightstand. I've stayed up late enough to notice that it does have some problem receiving a signal while I am wearing it, but that is expected as stated in the product manual.

Since the intended use of the major functions is in an outdoor/adventure type of environment, then this watch adequately fits the bill. For me it just makes a great, good looking daily wear watch.

I have a ton of Casio watches, including three old alti-barometer watches. When this series came out, I waited a while and then jumped on it. It has everything one could want. Well, it does everything it says it should, and very well. However, after about one year of use, I'm running into problems. I fly for a living, and this is the watch I take with me. I usually go to Europe five times a month and I wear this watch, when I'm home in the US this watch sits by a window to charge up and receive the atomic clock.
Well, the watch makes it to Europe, but on the return, it usually dies on me. It goes from battery High indication to a dead screen with a flashing "C", meaning it went into power saver mode trying to recharge. At this point it loses all information - time, date, altimeter settings etc... The other day it started flashing an "R" and froze up. Haven't found that in the manual yet. But I'm giving up on it. A watch is no good if it can't reliably show the time, and this one doesn't do that.
My guess is that the rechargeable battery is dead. The watch is out of warranty now, so I'm on my own with it. I found a place online that sells these rechargeable batteries, I guess I could give that a try. Still, disappointing, you would think a solar watch would work a whole lot longer than a regular battery.

Edit:

I bought a new rechargeable battery for nine dollars from a NY online store and changed it myself. The watch works perfectly now and hasn't dipped below a "High" charge since and that has been about a year. It has taken a lot of abuse in the last two years and still works great although the plastic on the sides is pretty scuffed. I changed the rating to a five star rating now since it works as it should. Still not pleased that Casio sent it out with a bad battery. By the way, it does receive the German and British time signals perfectly. Haven't tried the Japanese one yet. It is a little annoying that the watch needs to be told that it is in a different country though, rather than scanning for a signal by itself. I usually don't bother since the watch is accurate enough for a while without updating. Like most Casio's, it runs fast a few seconds every month if it doesn't update.

This is a very handy watch with it's atomic clock reception, solar charging, altimeter/barometer, thermometer and compass.

I purchased this watch to replace my 15 year old Pathfinder (then called the "Triple Sensor"). Solar charging and atomic clock reception is a nice plus. No need for replacement batteries, nor do you need to set the time. You'll never need to worry about breaking the factory seal to replace the batteries and you can compare all your other watches' accuracy against it

All instruments work as well as any other similar product-- compass as good as my Silva magnetic compass, barometer is as accurate as my home "weather stations", as is the atomic clock.

My only complaint is the recording mode-- not sure if the other models work the same way. My old Pathfinder would record both barometric pressure and temperature in 15 minute intervals for up to like 12 hours. This new one only records altitude. For me, I'm more interested in temperature while traveling/backpacking. It's fun to see how cold it got in your tent in the middle of the night. The watch already tracks pressure in hourly intervals, providing a 24 hour trend display, so this renders the recording feature even less useful for me. A little disappointed there. If you're interested in your accent/decent during a hike, this function would be useful.

This is a tough watch, so I won't be replacing it anytime soon.
All said, it's a quality Casio.

<p><strong>Great Watch Band Sucks</strong><br />

This is a great watch (replaced one I had for 12 years battery operated).
The band is crap and they made it so you can't replace it with a normal flex band (look at the pix attaching point).
Back to the watch... Very accurate altimiter ( I live at 4300' and It nails it when you set the bar.pressure correctly). Ditto on the compass.
Bottom line...You'll love the size and the solar performance..Buy It.
P.S. If you find a band that works let me know..
